About Group Technology and Operations (T&O)
Group T&O empowers the bank with innovative, efficient, and resilient infrastructure, focusing on productivity, quality, technology, and innovation. The department manages key operational processes and delivers exceptional service through various banking channels.


Job Purpose
The role is part of the DBS Australia Branch Operations team, responsible for overseeing day-to-day settlement functions, minimizing operational risks, and supporting business and branch activities.


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of payment and settlement transactions within SLA.
  • Monitor risks and controls in line with Group processes, policies, and local regulations.
  • Prepare monthly reports and performance matrices for transaction monitoring.
  • Adhere to risk and compliance protocols, including Group policies and country-specific regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process and monitor payments and Global Financial Market (GFM) products, including Money Markets, Fixed Income, Bonds/Repos, FX, and Derivatives.
  • Liaise with customers and counterparties to ensure accurate and timely settlements.
  • Provide support to Global Financial Market dealers and IBG Relationship Managers.
  • Handle AUSTRAC International Funds Transfer Instruction (IFTI) reporting.
  • Resolve transaction backlogs and follow operational checklists to ensure timely execution.
  • Implement procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Complete and review daily/monthly Departmental Control Function Checklists (DCFC).
  • Collaborate with other departments or Head Office on projects and initiatives to improve branch processes and systems.
  • Escalate exceptions to senior staff and follow up to ensure proper resolution.
  • Prepare daily/monthly reconciliations promptly.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of payments (SWIFT, RTGS, BECS, BPay) and GFM products (Money Markets, Fixed Income, Bonds/Repos, NCD).
  • Familiarity with derivatives, options, commodities, and futures is a plus.
  • Expertise in systems like SWIFT (including ISO), RITS, Austraclear, and Murex.
  • Proficient in operational policies, AML/CTF compliance, sanction monitoring, and IFTI reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, team player with a growth mindset.

Education / Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications preferred.
