Job Description
Under the direction of the team leader, the sesonal farm workers will perform general orchard maintenance (prune trees through the spring and fall workers events frost may change volume of work required. Assist with planting of new orchards and assist in the installation of new irrigration systems as needed the spring as wellas maintain and repair system as needed. During Harvest, the workers well assist where needed either picking swamping sorting packing etc
Duties and Responsiblities
- Pick trees as instructed and assist as needed aroundthe orchard
- Pick the fruit safety without damage to oneself the frui or the tree
- Take direction from the team leaders and Field QC teams
- Manage you picker tags an count of totes
- Take part of health and safety training and ongoing ladder traning
Qualification
Agility stamina ability to climb ladders and lift a minium of 25 ibs
Good eye for details and quality assurance
Able to take direction from supervisors and management as required
Able to work for extended periods of time in a focused, safe, adn professional manners
Must be a flexible team players who works well in a busy and demanding environment
Picking and experience as asset but not required full tranining is provided
Working Conditions
Applicant should be aware that
- This is a farming environment and day off may be extremly limited during our picking seasons
- Most workday start at 5am to run until early afternoon picking hours may change to nigh picking from late july to August
- Work hours are not calendar based but are dependent on crop maturity and weather
- hours per week are avalible 40+60 hours
- Applicant must be avalible from early july until early september
- Work is conducted ourside it os advisable to be prepared for weather by wearing layers
- All safety equipment including head lamos for night picking will be provided to you
