JOB DESCRIPTION
There is now an opportunity for an experienced Livestock Overseer to join this progressive company.
Position
Reporting to the Farm Manager, with day-to-day direction from the Assistant Manager, the Livestock Overseer will assist with the implementation of the livestock program, along with daily supervision of junior staff, and help ensure all operations are conducted in a timely and safe manner. There is potential for advancement in a progressive livestock orientated business for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the livestock program as developed by the company
- Daily supervision of all junior staff
- Ensure all operations are conducted in a timely and safe manner
- Monitor animal health and feeding requirements
- Documentation and reporting of all livestock breeding and paddock records
- Supervise the production of livestock
Skills and Experience
- Previous demonstrated livestock experience preferably in a pastoral operation
- Previous experience supervising junior staff
- Mechanical aptitude, experience in machinery operation, general maintenance and water supply
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience monitoring animal health would be desirable
Qualifications
- Unrestricted car licence
The successful applicant must also have good working dogs.
