Job Description
Reports any safety concerns immediately. Reports to Janitorial Supervisor This position is expected to be scheduled approximately 32 hours per week.
- Following daily, weekly, monthly and semi annual schedules, ensure all office areas and equipment is cleaned, disinfected and maintained in a safe and respectable manner. This includes emptying trash cans, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping, washing etc.
- Replenish paper tower, toilet paper, soap dispensers and hand sanitizers, as required
- Defrosting freezers and cleaning interior of fridges.
- Heavy duty cleaning on a semi annual basis, including interior and some exterior window cleaning stream cleaning carpets, mats, and fabric furniture washing walls, etc
- Report any safety concerns, follow up if they are not taken care of in a reasonable period of time.
- Martian and account for an inventory of supplies and order additional supplies as required
- Proper storage of all cleaning and hazardous materials
- other related duties as may be required
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum high school education
- Required to obtain WHMIS and TDG certification
- Some experience in cleaning would be an asset.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to work independently
- Organized with ability to maintain inventory, track, tasks, etc.
- High Standards for cleanliness
- Ability to read labels, leave notes, keep inventory, etc.
- Excellent discipline and time management skills
Special Requirement
- Subject to a clean criminal background check prior to employment
- Must be bondable

- Indoor office setting with several sets of stairs
- Occasional outside work
Physical Demands
Crouching, bending, reaching, repetitive movements
- Push pull carry
- Lifting up to 502 Ibs
- Loud noise possible due to cleaning machines
- Climbing and cleaning stairs
- Using ladders and other lifting devices for high level cleaning
Safety
- Proper PPE is to be worn as requires including gloves, eye mask and closed to foot wear
- Proper knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their use, storage, and mixture
- Proper use of cleaning machines
